T-Mobile double tablet data offer, expanded family plans coming soon

Following its quadruple data Simple Starter add-on that was announced yesterday, T-Mobile today announced a couple more plan tweaks that’ll be rolling out soon.

First up is a tablet offer. T-Mobile says that starting September 3, customers can add a tablet to their Simple Choice plan for $10 per month. T-Mo will then match the users LTE data allotment and apply it to the tablet. So if a customer has 5GB of LTE data for their phone, they’ll get another 5GB for their tablet.

T-Mobile is also still offering its Tablets Un-leashed promo that gives 200MB of free LTE data for the life of a tablet.

The second T-Mobile plan tweak focuses on families. Starting tomorrow, August 27, T-Mobile will increase the number of lines allowed on a Simple Choice family plan from 5 to 10. Each additional line will cost $10 per month.

Ever since the whole Sprint-Mobile deal fell through, the two carriers have been trading blows in the form of plan changes. It’s great to see Team Yellow and Team Magenta fighting for consumers’ wallets, and hopefully we’ll see more of it in the future.

I wish T-Mobile would work on its network around where I live. I ordered a T-mobile SIM to test with and got 0.06mb down and 0.02mb up when standing on my back deck. That is worse than being throttled by AIO/Cricket.
