Motorola Nexus 6 pre-orders now live in Google Play store

The Nexus 6 is here! The Nexus 6 is here!

Just as expected, the Motorola Nexus 6 is now available for pre-order from Google Play. Both the Midnight Blue and Cloud White models are available, as are the 32GB and 64GB capacities. Pricing is set at $649 for the 32GB model and $699 for the 64GB variant. Google is also giving a free 6-month Google Play Music unlimited trial to anyone that buys an N6 before December 31.

If you’d like a spec refresher, we’re happy to oblige. The Nexus 6 is the largest and most high-res Nexus smartphone to date, sporting a 5.92-inch 2560×1440 AMOLED display. The N6 also has a 2-megapixel camera and front-facing speakers on its face and a 13-megapixel shooter on its rear. That 13-megapixel cam features a dual LED flash and optical image stabilization.

Packed inside of the N6’s 10.06mm-thick body is a 2.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of storage, a 3220mAh battery, Qi wireless charging and 4G LTE connectivity. As with all Nexus phones, the Nexus 6 comes with a pure build of Android, this one being version 5.0 Lollipop.

The Nexus 6 is priced quite a bit higher than other recent Nexus phones, but its price is actually in line with other comparable high-end phones. The good news is if that Google’s N6 is too pricey for you, you’ve got a couple of options. The N6 will be available from all five big US carriers, who will likely offer it with a subsidy, and Google is also still selling the Nexus 5 for $349.

So, who’s buying?

I’m planning on it. I’m contemplating getting it from AT&T, the price tag is just a little out of budget this time. Hopefully AT&T will accept pre-orders soon!

Just keep refreshing….I do that and in one of my refreshes it says that I can order and now I ordered one. :D

I was going to buy one, but they were sold out before this article went live. Honestly I’m not sure how long they were selling for. It seemed like only 20 minutes from seeing “Coming soon” to seeing “Out of stock” but I can’t be sure, I’ve been checking every chance I get. I immediately came to Android and Me to see what they said but there was no mention at all. I only just now saw this post.

I was totally convinced that a 6″ screen would be no problem, but just yesterday I saw a 6″ BLU phone and man it was ENORMOUS, bezels were kinda standard not much different than the ones one Nexus 6. It totally changed my point of view and now I really need to see on person the N6 before buying it.

I want this phone! Been hitting the website since 5am PST. Finally went live and within minutes was sold out! Forums that I visit has several people reporting they were able to get one. Hoping they get more supply or atleast take backorders.

Nexus 6 (32GB, Cloud White) is not available in your country.

I sat on this page refreshing all day long – even have a chrome extension watching the page for updates… it went straight from “coming soon” to “out of inventory” — never had the option to preorder.

Im not one that enjoys to flame when angered, but I’ll tell you why I totally agree with this article. I like many others knew Googs would let Pre orders start at 1:00PM PST so I am at my PC, and Play store on my M8 refreshing the page hundreds of times on both devices at 1:00. I finally after about 3 mins get the Blue 64GB N6 (the one I wanted) in basket and hit button to proceed to checkout, only to have the process time out and when I look in my cart, NOTHING WAS THERE!!!! I knew at that point that I was in trouble and had just been bent over by Google. I immediately refreshed again, and by that time, they were gone! This is not about being butt hurt, because we weren’t quick enough, or not paying attention or something. I WAS quick enough and rightfully had my order in the basket only to have Google fuck me for it when proceeding to checkout! It is preposterous to think that with all the nerds that work at Google, and the fact that the internet is Google and Google is the internet, that they could not come up with a preorder system that rivaled or bettered the like’s of Apple’s! At the VERY LEAST Google should have let stock run out like it did, and kept taking preorders based on first come first serve even if the ship date would have been 3-4 weeks so you could at least know that your device was payed for and ready to go. Now you might not have had your device in hand as fast as the lucky ones that managed to get the initial preorder batch, but the experience would have concluded with you having the satisfaction that your device is secured! HOW IS THAT HARD TO PULL OFF GOOGLE?! It just doesn’t make sense. This phone is not like the N4 & N5 budget device of yesteryear. The way I am seeing it, the Nexus 6 is Google’s first true “Flagship” that is made with premium materials and stellar software experience that is supposed to go head to head with iPhone, Sammy, LG, HTC. If this is also how they see this phone, then they are off to a horrendous start and are creating distrust in their brand! The lack of a cohesive preorder for the N6 shows it. This was the WORST preorder for a flagship device in history PERIOD! This experience has left a very bad taste in my mouth for the entire Android experience because to me it shows Google just doesn’t give a flying shit about their prospective Android/ Nexus customers, especially since they are marketing and more importantly, charging a premium for the Nexus 6 and portraying it has Google’s 1st true flagship and what all other Android phones should look up to as well has what all competitors wish they could be. I use and prefer Android as my smartphone “workhorse” device because of the platform’s amazing versatility, and tend to use Apple products for everything else. I hate to say it and as much as I cringe at the thought, but because of the of the unprofessional shenanigans Google pulled on me yesterday with this preorder debacle, I may well be returning to an Apple/ iOS powered device as my phone! It may not be has fun, versatile or as open, but at least they know how to treat their customers!

When i said I agree with this article, it was meant for another….But the point still stands

As a long time Android user it frustrates me to see that Google still can’t manage major global roll-outs and Apple handles them with ease.

Nexus 6 and Nexus Player not available in your country – my country is always first for Apple releases but never for Google.

    Most disappointing.
