OnePlus opening up pre-orders on October 27

OnePlus One

It would seem fitting for a chorus of angels to come down and sing the hallelujah chorus right about now. OnePlus has announced that the OnePlus One will be available for pre-order without invites beginning next Monday, October 27 at 11:00AM EST. This system has been a long time in the coming, after months and months of increasingly convoluted invite systems. Now, interested customers will be able to simply place a pre-order and get the device.

Unfortunately, OnePlus has yet to confirm when the pre-orders will actually ship. But from what it looks like, you’ll get an estimated shipping time when you place a pre-order. Payment for shipments will only be accepted through PayPal and device pre-orders are limited to two per customer. Additionally, if you get an invite after submitting a pre-order, you can use it to skip to the top of the pre-order queue and get your device in advance of the other pre-orders.

In short, this new system is nearly as confusing as the last few, though this is the closest thing that we’ve seen to the OnePlus One being available to the general public. If you’d like to pre-order, you can do so on October 27. As an added bonus, all accessories will be sold with a celebratory discount when added to your OnePlus One pre-order.

What are your thoughts on this new system?

It’s cool to have this, you will still have to wait for your “invite” just on a different way, like more organized on a pre-order queue, and regular invites will still work as usual, nice.

it’s a just a system for them to make more money with shit hardware.

Is it gonna be the same price?

    • Wade

Yeah, same thoughts, the price should have come down to be fair.

Does anyone even care about this phone anymore? This is going to be the gold standard for botching a product launch.

Their email says “pre-orders kick off on October 27 for ONE HOUR ONLY” really?! How do they come up with these fabulous ideas?

I owned 4. 2 of them were nice. Other 2 had yellow bands and last one dead pixel smack in the middle of the screen in addition to yellow band. Bought 2 off cl and 2 through invites. I thoroughly tested the phone over the last 4 months over several handsets.

    Verdict: compete junk.

For reference, I’ve used every flagship by Samsung s4 s5 note 2 and 3, lg g2 and g3, nokia lumia 1520, htc m8 and nexus 5. Currently wiring this on note 4.

Do yourselves a favor and stay away from this disaster of a phone.
