It’s a new week and Virgin Mobile is kicking things off with a new set of plans and a new Android smartphone to go with ‘em.
The new Virgin Mobile Unlimited plans start out at just $20 per month — data hounds needn’t apply — and top out at $55 per month. Here’s how they all break down:
- $20 per month: 300 minutes, unlimited text and Wi-Fi data access only
- $35 per month: Unlimited or 300 minutes, unlimited text and unlimited data with 250MB of high-speed 3G/4G data for unlimited plan or 2.5GB of high-speed data for 300 minute plan
- $45 per month: Unlimited talk and text, unlimited data with 1GB of high-speed data
- $55 per month: Unlimited talk and text, unlimited data with 3GB of high-speed data
Virgin Mobile’s also got a couple of add-ons available for its new plans. First is a $5 per month add-on that offers unlimited calls to Canada, unlimited calls to landlines in Mexico and unlimited worldwide texting. The second add-on is priced at $10 per month and includes all of the goodies of the $5 add-on and throws in 1000 minutes to mobile devices in Mexico, unlimited calling to landlines in select cities in more than 70 countries and discounted calling rates for more than 200 countries.
On the hardware side of things, Virgin Mobile has launched the LG Tribute. The Tribute will set you back $79.99 without a commitment. For your hard-earned $80, you’ll get an Android 4.4.2 device with a 4.5-inch display, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 5-megapixel rear camera, 4GB of storage, 1GB of RAM and 4G LTE connectivity.
