For owners of the new Moto X under Verizon’s umbrella, Monday is looking to be a pretty good day, as Verizon has confirmed reports that Android 5.0 Lollipop is headed to the device.
Earlier on Monday, November 24, Motorola published its own official changelog for the upcoming Android 5.0 update for the handset, which would see the version number upgraded to 22.21.11. As one might expect, the upgrade to Lollipop brings plenty of tweaks and improvements to the newer Moto X model, including the upgrade to Material Design, notification tweaks and improvements, as well as updates to Moto Display, Smart Lock and more.
Following the publishing of the changelog, many believed that it was simply in testing, but many second gen Moto X owners quickly began reporting that their handsets had already received the update. It wouldn’t take long to officially come forward and confirm the update’s progress, saying that Lollipop has begun rolling out to the second-gen Moto X beginning today.
The update measures in at 678.6MB. You can check your device to see if the upgrade is pending for you by heading into Settings > About Phone > System Updates > Yes, I’m in.
