Android 5.0.1 factory images for Nexus 6, Nexus 4 posted by Google

Having a Nexus device is all about having the latest and greatest version of Android before most everyone else. However, Android 5.0.1 is still unavailable to most Nexus products, despite it being revealed a couple of weeks ago. The good news is that now a couple Nexus phones can make the jump to 5.0.1.

Google has posted the Android 5.0.1 (build LRX22C) factory images for the Nexus 6 and Nexus 4. That means that if you don’t feel like waiting any longer for the over the air update to hit your N6 or N4, you can now just flash the factory image.

It’s worth noting that as with any factory image, flashing the Android 5.0.1 image will totally wipe your Nexus 6 or Nexus 4. That might be a lot to trade for an x.x.1 update, but hey, at least you’ve got the option if you absolutely have to be on Android 5.0.1 right now.

If any of you do pull the update trigger and flash Android 5.0.1, be sure to let us know how it works for you!

Hopefully it will give you better battery life since project Volta is a sad flop.

My Galaxy Note 4 gets 7hrs on screen time daily with 20hrs use daily industry leading battery life.

No Nexus 6 will ever compare or come close to any Note products.

It’s a well known fact that flashing the system img only eill not wipe your device…nice FUD post, though.

    No update for Nexus 5 yet! Nexus 5 & 6 have 5.0.1 (LRX22C).

You would have thought the Nexus 5 would have before the Nexus 4!
