ASUS teases new smartphone that can ‘see what others can’t see’

Last year, ASUS brought a line of ZenFone smartphones with it to CES. Now a new teaser has revealed that CES 2015 will bring with it a new ZenFone with a unique camera feature.

A new teaser posted to the official ASUS Facebook page offers brief glimpses at the front and back of a slab smartphone, as well as some close-ups of its rear camera setup. The teaser ends with the phrase “See what others can’t see,” and ASUS has attached hashtags for ZenFone and CES 2015 to the post.

We’ll probably have to wait for CES 2015 to kick off in Las Vegas next month before we find out for sure what ASUS is teasing, but in the mean time we can make some guesses. The close-ups of the device’s camera setup makes it look like it’s got a rear camera and perhaps a couple of flashes, which could fit with the “See what others can’t see” teaser.

What do you think ASUS has up its sleeve for CES 2015?

I know what it is …a gimmick. If it doesn’t make better pictures and just shows reds and blues like predator vision, then a gimmick it shall be.

For me, the only real relevance is will the phone come to the US. A lot of these ASUS phones I never see available to be purchased in the US.
