Samsung Galaxy S5′s Android 5.0 update is underway

Looks like that rumor that claimed that the Galaxy S5 would begin getting Android 5.0 in December was spot on.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 with the model number SM-G900F is now receiving its over the air update to Android 5.0. According to SamMobile, the update is currently only hitting users in Poland, but it’s expected that it’ll expand to other European locals in the near future.

Various leaks have shown us that Samsung’s version of Android 5.0 is still mostly TouchWiz. However, there are some Lollipop touches throughout, including in the refreshed notifications, heads-up notifications and some Material design tweaks in some core apps. And hey, it doesn’t hurt to be on the latest and greatest version of Android just for app compatibility’s sake.

Stay tuned and we’ll let you know when the Galaxy S5’s Android 5.0 update expands outside of Poland and surrounding countries.
