The CES announcements are starting to roll in and Acer is joining the herd by announcing two new smartphones. The Liquid Jade S is a new high-end smartphone from Acer that aims to bring powerful performance at a relatively affordable price. The Liquid Jade S features specs such as a 5-inch (presumably 1080p) display, 1.5GHz 64-bit octa-core MediaTek processor, Mali T760 GPU, 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 4G LTE, and a hybrid microSD/nano-SIM system that allows the user to either have a microSD card or a second nano-SIM card.
Acer is launching the Liquid Jade S with Android 4.4 KitKat but has promised that an upgrade to Lollipop will arrive early this year. It will be available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in January for €299.
Acer also announced the Liquid Z410, a more compact phone that packs decent performance. The Liquid Z410 features a specs list that includes a 4.5-inch qHD (960×540) display, 64-bit quad-core processor, Mali 760 GPU, 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, 4G LTE and DTS Studio Sound. It also includes AcerRAPID, which is a button beneath the rear camera that allows the user to quickly and easily open a set of customizable options or functions.
The Acer Liquid Z410 will be available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in January for €129.
