When Amazon initially launched the Fire phone, its first attempt at the smartphone market, it was met with skepticism thanks to the high price tag associated with the handset.
It didn’t take long before the device was hit with a price drop through AT&T on contract, down to ninety-nine cents. Since then, the Fire phone has seen a few price drops here and there directly from Amazon for the unlocked variant of the handset. Now Amazon is at it again, running a limited time price cut for its Fire phone for those who want to pick up a worthy device for only $189.00.
As far as features go, the unlocked Fire phone is exactly the same as the other variants, meaning you’ll get a 4.7-inch HD display, a quad-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz with 2GB of RAM, and a 13-megapixel camera on the back with optical image stabilization and proprietary features like Mayday, Dynamic Perspective and Firefly. The purchase of a Fire phone still includes a year’s subscription to Amazon Prime, too.
