HTC schedules “utopia in progress” press event on March 1 at MWC

With the CES unveiling of the Desire 826 all wrapped up, HTC is setting its sights on Mobile World Congress. We opened our inbox this morning to find an invite from HTC to a press event scheduled for Sunday, March 1  at 4 pm CET (10 am EST) in Barcelona; the day before the doors open at Mobile World Congress. HTC’s invitation to a “utopia in progress” doesn’t give us any clues about what the company is planning to unveil at Mobile World Congress, but we have a feeling HTC’s presence at MWC will be more memorable than it was last year with the unveiling of the HTC Desire 816. The HTC Hima may be the headliner at HTC’s event, but let’s not forget that HTC is also working on a few other product categories as well. Rumor has it that HTC is planning to launch two Android tablets in the first half of 2015, and there’s the HTC’s Android Wear watch launch that was postponed from 2014 in an effort to deliver a better experience than the first-generation Android Wear devices produced by LG, Samsung, Motorola and Sony.
