Watch the Super Bowl live from your Android tablet this year

NBC is giving Android users another way to watch the Super Bowl this year, cable subscription or not. On February 1, the day of the Super Bowl, NBC will be hosting Super Stream Sunday with 11 hours of Super Bowl coverage — including the game itself — through the tablet version of the NBC Sports Live Extra app.

Along with the Super Bowl, anyone with an Android tablet (Verizon owns to the rights to NFL coverage on phones, so it’s tablets only) or desktop will be able to watch the Katy Perry halftime show, pre and post game coverage and a special episode of NBC’s The Blacklist after the game. Usually, users of NBC’s Sports Live Extra app have to sign in with a cable account to watch live coverage. But this year, if you’re willing to be hit with a barrage of ads on the service you can watch without signing in at all.

This is excellent news for cord cutters who don’t have a cable subscription and don’t have access to broadcast television. To download the NBC Sports Live Extra app, use the download link below. While we’re on the subject of the Super Bowl, let us know who you think will win this year in the comments below.
