Just one day after Verizon began pushing an update to its Samsung Galaxy S5, AT&T is doing the same for its own GS5. Unfortunately, AT&T’s is just a bit different.
The AT&T Galaxy S5 is now being updated to build KTU84P.G900AUCU2AOA1, a 487MB bump that includes Android 4.4.4 KitKat and support for AT&T HD Voice calling. AT&T’s thrown in some apps that it thinks that you need as well. The official changelog:
Android KitKat 4.4.4
- Miscellaneous improvements, bug fixes, and security updates
HD Voice capability
AT&T Service additions:
- Mail – ATT Mail (att.net mail)
- AT&T Live
- Remote Support
So no, there’s no Lollipop to be found here. Hopefully the fact that Verizon pushing Android 5.0 to its Galaxy S5 yesterday means that AT&T is at least getting close to pushing out its own Lollipop treat, though. Until then, you can try to pull this Android 4.4.4 update by heading into Settings > About device > Software update > Check for updates.
