HTC has confirmed that the “new HTC One” will arrive on March 1. The confirmation comes from HTC’s U.K. Twitter account, which sent out a tweet and photo that reads, “Let them stare. The new HTC One revealed 01.03.15.” The picture is a simple one, containing only purple flower petals. The tweet hints at a new design and the purple flower petals could point towards a new purple color option, though that may be reading into it too much.

After HTC announced that it would be holding an event on March 1, we immediately assumed that it would be the successor to last year’s One (M8). While we were pretty confident in that guess, it’s good to see HTC confirming the idea. The new HTC One is expected to bring improved specs such as a Snapdragon 810 processor and 20.7-megapixel rear camera.

Now we just need to know if it will be called the new HTC One, HTC One (M9), HTC Hima or HTC new-phone-for-2015.

Names are important.

Anyone else find the ironic humor of the purple flower, given all the purple tinted camera problems from the M7?!?

No not really. Get over the camera issue! That was so 2013! Move on.

Can’t wait! I will be buying it the day it is released!

Will it also come in Windows Phone flavor?
