Maintenance release for Lollipop coming in March, probably Android 5.1

Android‘s next maintenance release will be coming in March, according to a tweet by HTC’s VP of product management, Mo Versi. Android 5.0 Lollipop was a major update to Android, and as such, it predictably had some quirks and bugs that hadn’t been sorted out. Fortunately, Google seems to be prepping an update to fix these issues, and it looks like we won’t have to wait much longer, as March is just around the corner.

The update will likely be Android 5.1, which has already been spotted on Android One devices in Thailand. While the update likely won’t contain much in the way of new features, it should solve many of the problems that Lollipop users have been dealing with. We’ll have to wait and see for sure, but don’t expect Google to release another major Android update anytime soon.
