T-Mobile offering a free tablet with 1GB or higher data plan Feb. 12-16

Free smartphones are always available on a two-year contract, but we haven’t yet gotten to the point where a free tablet with contract is standard fare.

As a Valentine’s Day gift to interested tablet customers, T-Mobile is extending just such an offer, with a free Alcatel OneTouch Pop 7 for anyone that signs up for a two-year data contract of at least 1GB a month. That’ll set you back $20 a month and you do still have to pay sales tax on the tablet which should amount to around $10 depending on your local taxes.

With a 7-inch 1024×600 display and 1.3GHz dual-core processor, the OneTouch Pop 7 is unquestionably a budget tablet (normally $168 on T-Mobile), but for a light tablet user it could still get the job done. And naturally, if it isn’t cutting it there would be nothing to stop you from buying a better tablet to slip your T-Mobile SIM into and then selling your free Pop 7 to defer the cost a bit.

Anyone considering taking T-Mobile up on their sweetheart deal?

I work at TMobile and it’s only $10 to add a data line, not 20 like you said. Not sure where you are getting your info or who is proofreading your facts
