T-Mobile’s Galaxy S5 is now receiving its update to Android 5.0 Lollipop

Android 5.0 Lollipop has been steadily rolling out to several different devices recently, and the trend continues with the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S5.

T-Mobile has begun pushing the update for Samsung’s Galaxy S5, and it’s a doozy to say the least. Measuring in at 939.59MB, it’s available either through an over the air (OTA) download or through Samsung’s Kies software on a computer. Unfortunately, neither Samsung nor Magenta have provided a changelog for the update, so there’s no word on just what the new software will bring to the device.

Of course, there should be plenty of Material Design tweaks and other Android 5.0 goodies, so if you happen to own a Galaxy S5 under T-Mobile, make sure to keep an eye out for the update. Or, if you can’t wait, just head into Settings –> About device –> Software update and try to call down the update directly.

Do you plan on upgrading today?

Humm, Google Play crash. Contacts crash. Google Play Music, well you know.

Now Facebook keep re-installing the Update?

Did a Factory Reset. Two issues remain: 1)Contacts still quits working at random times 2) Samsung MyKnox has re-installed with an 8 digit requirement for password – incompatible with our ActiveSync installation.

Hopefully the note 4 is next

I have the T Mobile galaxy s5. I accidentally crushed my phone in the hood of my car back in November and I called in a insurance claim and got a new galaxy s5 the first week of December, I decided to hold off on rooting my new device because I knew lollipop would be coming out in the next few weeks and I didn’t want to have to deal with issues of upgrading a rooted phone. I could not stand the ads anymore and I finally rooted my galaxy s5 last Friday and I decided to check today which I check every day and there was an update of over nine hundred megabytes I knew it had to be lollipop I opened up pulse and started reading my android newsfeed and I seen this article. It started downloading the update over the air but I didn’t want to charge up my mobile data usage so I cancel the update and I figure I will probably do it through Kies when I get home. Normally when I check for updates it says your device has been modified and that I cannot update it and to connect it to kies my phone is rooted as of writing this post but it is it did not say anything about a modified device when I tried to get the update hopefully it doesn’t do anything now and make my device Unusable. anyways anybody that reads this please wish me luck and hopefully I will have lollipop in the next couple hours.

I did modify the device a little differently this time that I had the previous time. I believe I used the towel root method. this method had me used eldon just like my previous method but it had multiple files 1 essentially downgrade the boot loader and then another file to root the phone and another file to update the bootloader or the kernel or whatever it is back to the current model or version so that as of last Friday it showed up as the latest firmware in kies maybe that’s why its offering to let me update it over the air and not saying anything

Two S5′s updated. No problems at all. Seems a little less laggy, but that could just be the new car smell.
