ZRRO is a new Android gaming console that breaks from the norm and uses a controller outfitted with a hover touch pad. Rather than using a traditional gaming controller, ZRRO uses a unique hover touch pad that the company claims is like using a touchscreen. The ZRRO Pad uses a patented combination of mutual and self capacitance technology, dubbed zTouch. This combination allows the ZRRO Pad to sense where fingers are above the display and whether or not you’re actually pressing down or not. It also reportedly solves ghosting issues that would be expected.
The ZRRO BOX itself seems to be a decent Android gaming console. It’s outfitted with a quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage plus a microSD slot that supports cards up to 32GB, two USB 2.0 ports, one HDMI port and video output up to 4K. The best part of the entire package is that it supports all of the Android apps and games out there, due to the unique touch experience that it offers.
ZRRO is an interesting concept that could either blow us all away or spectacularly flop like the Ouya. If you want to get in on the action, follow the source link to the Kickstarter page and pre-order for $149 as an early bird price or $199 full price.
