Huawei announced the Ascend P7 in May of last year, and while we’re now a bit earlier in the year, it looks like the company is gearing up to announce the device’s successor. Huawei is sending out invitations to an event in central London that will take place on April 15, and it’s believed the company’s newest flagship will be unveiled.
Details on just what Huawei might announce are few and far between at this point, but Android Central suggests that whatever Huawei has ready to show off will be the company’s flagship smartphone for 2015. Whether that means it’s a true successor to last year’s Ascend P7, and if they call it the Ascend P8, remains to be seen.
To add to the mix, though, serial leaker @OnLeaks has published a photo today that allegedly shows the “lower back side” of what is believed to be the “Ascend P8 prototype.” It’s far from official, but Huawei is right on schedule to announce something new and exciting, so hopefully April 15 is a date to look forward to.
