If you’re rocking a Moto X (1st Gen.), your wait for Lollipop may soon finally be over.
David Schuster, Motorola’s Senior Director of Product Management, says that the Android 5.1 update for the Moto X (1st Gen.) is now in “TestDrive” in both the U.S. and Latin America. If everything goes smoothly, Schuster says, the update will begin rolling out to everyone “in a few weeks.” As for why it’s taken so long for the first Moto X to get Lollipop, Schuster explains that some partners aren’t showing the device their full support.
When the Moto X (1st Gen.) does get its Android 5.1 update, it’s going to get a ton of goodies since it’s going there from Android 4.4. The list of new features includes a refreshed and Material Design-ified user interface, Screen Pinning, a new Recent Apps menu, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connection options in Quick Settings, and more.
