While DROID Turbo owners wait to see if their Android 5.1 is finally near, Moto X (2nd Gen.) Pure Edition users can update right now.
Motorola product manager David Schuster has announced that the Moto X (2nd Gen.) Pure Edition’s Android 5.1 update is now in full deployment, meaning that anyone in the US with that phone should be getting the update. To check for it manually, go into Settings > About phone > System updates > Yes, I’m in.
Android 5.1 for the Moto X (2nd Gen.) Pure Edition adds a handful of improvements, like the ability to switch Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections from Quick Settings and some usability enhancements. It also adds a new Moto Action that’ll let you turn on your phone’s flashlight by making a chopping motion twice.
