Oppo previously said that it would launch the R7 internationally in June, today the company did indeed start taking orders for its new Android phone.
The Oppo R7 is available for pre-order for $399 from Oppo’s online store. You can choose between gold and silver color options, and Oppo is also including a free iLike Speed Metal Bluetooth Headset with each purchase. Stock of the free headset is limited, though, so you may want to place your order ASAP if you want it.
If you spaced off the Oppo R7’s spec list in the month since it first debuted, we’re happy to fill you in:
- 5-inch 1920×1080 display
- 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor
- 13-megapixel Samsung 3M2 rear camera with f/2.2 aperture
- 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.4 aperture
- 16GB of storage
- microSD card slot
- 3GB of RAM
- 2320mAh battery
- WCDMA 850/900/1700/1900/2100MHz
- LTE bands 1, 4, 7, 17
- Color OS 2.1 user interface
- Android 4.4 KitKat
Obviously the inclusion of KitKat and not Lollipop is a bit of a bummer, but the bigger Oppo R7 Plus will come with Android 5.1 in tow when it launches, so perhaps Oppo will eventually treat the R7 to Lollipop as well. Besides that, the Oppo R7 seems like a respectable upper mid-range phone with a premium metal unibody construction.
What do you think of the Oppo R7? Are you going to pre-order one?
