The Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3, with its Snapdragon 615 processor and 1080p 5.5-inch display, has been our favorite mid-range smartphone this year. Not only is it a great phone, but Alcatel’s $249 price point definitely positions it to outsell the competition by offering the best bang for your buck. But since today is Amazon Prime Day, Alcatel thought it would sweeten the deal by cutting the price of the Idol 3 to just $199.99 (starting just after midnight Pacific). No, it’s still not as cheap as the second generation Motorola Moto G ($171.99), but the Idol 3′s faster processor, better camera, and larger full HD display make it a much, much better deal.
Keep in mind, the $199.99 price of the phone will be available only for today or until supplies run out. Alcatel OneTouch will not be taking any rain checks or issuing any credit to those who previously purchased the phone for $249.99.
There are a handful of cases available for the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3, but we’d recommend checking out Amazon’s amazingly low prices on microSD cards if you’re looking to a read deal on an accessory for your new phone.
