Google Play update improves character page animation, tweaks What’s New section

A new Google Play app update will be hitting our phones and tablets soon, but thanks to a certain Googler, we already know about some of the goodies that the update will bring.

According to Googler Kirill Grouchnikov, a new Google Play update is going to start rolling out soon with some UI tweaks. The first change relates to the characters in the family section of the Play Store, bringing a new animation that slides a character’s icon to the middle of the screen when tapped.

The second tweak involves the What’s New section of updated apps. The green box that contains the changelog for an app update is now a lighter shade of green, and it’s also been expanded slightly to touch the edge’s of your device’s display. Meanwhile, the text in the box has changed from black to light green, and the upper left corner is now home to a sort of explosion bullet point object.

These changes might be small, but they show that Google is continually working to improve the user experience of its apps. Grouchnikov says that this updated Google Play app will roll out to users “soon,” but if you’d rather not wait, you can grab the APK from APK Mirror and load it onto your phone or tablet right now.
