Google Maps continues to improve through noteworthy updates, with upcoming features aimed at helping folks find the best possible way to get where they’re going, no matter how they want to get there.
Pointing out how complicated it can be navigating through a big city, Google Maps has confirmed through a blog post that it will be updating its Android app to support even more ride-sharing services, all in an effort to help users find the best possible way to get to their destination. Specifically, that means that Google Maps will now support Gett in the UK, mytaxi in Germany and Spain, Hailo in the UK and Spain, 99Taxis in Brazil, and Ola Cabs in India.
Adding support for these companies means that if you have their apps installed on your device, you’ll now be able to see a pickup time and price estimation from a single tab within Google Maps. If you like the estimate and pickup time, tapping on the icon will launch the app directly so you can order the car service.
On top of that, Google Maps is expanding its support for Uber, which it launched support for in 2014. Now the app will show you different Uber options that might be available, including UberBLACK.
The update for Android users will be available over the coming days, and an update for iOS is in the works and should arrive “very soon.”
