Photographs have always been the crux of Instagram’s empire, but video is a big focal point for many these days. Up until recently, Instagram offered support for users to publish 15-second videos, while companies have had access to 60-second videos for their advertisements.
After a waiting period, Instagram has deemed it okay to rollout support for 60-second videos for everyone, not just companies and advertisers. The rollout is beginning today, but the social network points out that it could take more than a month to get the feature out to everyone out there using the service.
The social network also says that this new update is just one of many that are planned for the year ahead, but what that means right now remains to be seen. It should be interesting to see what else Instagram has in store for its user base in the coming months.
