Google is sending out invites to test a new travel app

Local Guides

Since the rise of Google Maps, Google has always placed a focus on travel. As of late, the company has done even more with travel, with things such as the launch of Destinations within Google Search. Now Google looks to be expanding further, as the company is beginning to send out invites to certain members of its Local Guides program. These invites are for a new travel app coming from Google, but there aren’t many hints on what this new travel app will consist of.

Those who were invited were asked to fill out a survey, which asked some pretty typical questions, but then also asked about upcoming travel plans, including the dates of the trip(s). With testing beginning within the next couple of weeks, Google seems to be looking for those who will be traveling during the test period. At least one member of our staff was invited and applied to be a tester, so if any details are allowed to be shared about the program, you’ll be sure to hear them.

Any others receive an invite to the program?
