Twitter for Android getting a visual refresh beginning today

Twitter for Android is seeing a pretty big update beginning today, both in its functionality and visual aesthetic.

Twitter officially announced today that its Android app is seeing a large refresh. All-in-all, Twitter for Android looks to be getting more in line with Material Design, with everything getting a bit flatter and sleeker. There’s even a new tab bar that allows for quick transitions between Direct Messages, Notifications, and your Timeline.

There’s also a new navigation menu that can be accessed by sliding it in from the side, which will allow users to access the profile, lists, Highlights, and more. The new refresh includes a floating action button near the bottom-right of the screen, too, which will make it easy to launch a new tweet when you want.

Twitter says the new refresh is rolling out globally beginning today, and that users just need to update their app to see the changes.

Do you use Twitter for Android or a third-party app?
