The OnePlus 3 will receive a beta build of Nougat this month

OnePlus head of software Brian Yoon has announced that the OnePlus 3 will receive its first build of Android 7.0 Nougat this month. The announcement follows a recent shuffle at the company in which it merged the teams behind its two software versions, HydrogenOS and OxygenOS.

The first edition of Nougat will be a beta community build. This version is soon to be followed by a complete, finished update that’s set to arrive before the end of the year. In the announcement, Yoon also confirmed that older devices, specifically the OnePlus 2, will also receive an update to Android 7.0 Nougat, but that there isn’t a specific timeframe in place just yet.

Keep your eyes open, OnePlus folk, it won’t be long before Nougat comes knocking.
