The Honor 6X is a great phone at its $250 price point and we imagine that some owners would like to improve upon its shortcomings with software modifications. But without source code, Honor 6X ROMs haven’t been stable enough for daily use.
Huawei has finally dropped the kernel source for the Honor 6X, and developers are already starting to make better, more stable ROMs. Hopefully this will kickstart a healthy modding community for this budget phone. Maybe we’ll even see stable AOSP ROMs! Huawei hasn’t been known for prompt and clean releases of source code, but we hope that is changing.
