SanDisk launches 400GB microSD card

Two years after launching a 200GB microSD card, SanDisk has upped the ante with a much larger card.

SanDisk today revealed a 400GB microSD card. With it, customers can add nearly a half-terabyte of space to their mobile devices. This Class 10 400GB microSD card offers transfer speeds of up to 100MB per second and meets A1 App Performance Class spec, which should help it to load apps faster.

If this sounds appealing to you, then we’ve got good news for you. The SanDisk 400GB microSD card is now available from Amazon at a price of $249.99. The card is expected to ship in 2 to 4 weeks, but if you want to secure one right now, then you can do just that.

It’s no surprise to see the capacity of microSD cards continue to grow, but it’s still kind of crazy to see a 400GB microSD card announced. With smartphones becoming capable of capturing higher-res photos and videos and the rise of 4K videos, though, this huge (but still small) microSD card could really be useful.
