Android One Moto X4 for Project Fi now official for $399

The Moto X4 debuted at the end of August and then rumors suggested that an Android One version of the handset may be on the way.

Looks like the rumor mill got another one right, because the Android One Moto X4 for Project Fi is now official. The handset is available to pre-order for Google’s MVNO beginning today, September 20, and it’s priced at $399.

Google says the Moto X4 “runs a pure Android experience.” What’s more, Google will update the device to Android 8.0 Oreo at some point before the end of 2017, and the company is promising that the Android One Moto X4 will be one of the first devices to get upgraded to Android P, too.

The Moto X4 boasts a 5.2-inch 1080p HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage and a microSD card slot, and a 3000mAh battery. There’s a 12-megapixel Dual Autofocus Pixel camera on the back along with an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor next to it. There is a 16-megapixel front-facing camera on the other side.

Priced at $399, the Android One Moto X4 certainly seems like a solid choice for Project Fi customers looking for an affordable new phone. Plus, the promise that it will be quickly updated to Android 8.0 Oreo and Android P in the future is pretty great.

Are you going to pick up the Android One Moto X4 for Project Fi?
