Huawei doesn’t have a big presence in the US, despite being one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in the world. Huawei sells its best unlocked phones here but you won’t see them at a carrier store.
That might be changing soon, as the Mate 10 Pro may be coming to the US via AT&T. XDA got their hands on a firmware called BLA-A09-att-us, with the standard Mate 10 Pro firmware being BLA-L09. This, along with previous reports about Huawei working with AT&T, is a good indicator that we will see Huawei’s flagship on AT&T soon.
The firmware doesn’t give much information other than the existence of AT&T bloatware (and its ability to be uninstalled) and Firefox pre-installed on top of the same Oreo and EMUI 8.0 build we see on the international version of the Mate 10 Pro. We don’t know the release date or price. The international version costs around $930 USD, so expect similar pricing when it comes stateside.
With Huawei being a new brand to most consumers, it’ll be a challenge to get customers to buy, but this will surely push the brand towards becoming a household name. If you could get one on AT&T with installments, would you go for it? Leave a comment!
