Leak reveals OnePlus 5T ahead of November 16th announcement

Looking forward to the upcoming reveal of the OnePlus 5T? If so, you’ll be excited to learn that you don’t have to wait until November 16th to learn all about the upcoming flagship.

Several photos and specs for the OnePlus 5T have been shared by The photos are part of an unboxing gallery and include a comparison with the OnePlus 5.

The OnePlus 5T features a similar form factor to the OnePlus 5, looking just a smidge larger than its predecessor. The big difference is the display, with the 5T appearing to have a larger screen than the 5 as well as smaller bezels. Because of this larger screen, the OnePlus 5T has a fingerprint reader on its backside rather than below its screen like the OnePlus 5.

Today’s leak also includes images of the OnePlus 5T’s spec list. The 5T reportedly features a 6.01-inch 2160×1080 AMOLED display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. That’s larger and taller than the OnePlus 5′s 5.5-inch 1920×1080 AMOLED screen, which features a 16:9 aspect ratio.

The OnePlus 5T also has a 16-megapixel wide angle rear camera with a Sony IMX398 sensor and f/1.7 aperture, like the OnePlus 5. The 5T differs from the 5 in its secondary camera, though, which is a 20-megapixel camera with IMX376K sensor and f/1.7 aperture. There’s also a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with an IMX371 sensor and f/2.0 aperture on the OP5T.

Packed inside the OnePlus 5T’s aluminum shell is a Snapdragon 835 processor, a 3,300mAh battery, USB-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, all of which are also found on the OnePlus 5. There are also two versions of the OP5T, one with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage and one with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

OnePlus has confirmed that it’ll announce the 5T on November 16th, with launches in North America and Europe scheduled for November 21st. A release in India is happening on November 28th, and China will get the OnePlus 5T on December 1st.

One detail that’s still missing is the OnePlus 5T’s price. OnePlus regularly places a focus on the price of its phones, putting them well below the cost of competing flagships. As a result, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the OnePlus 5T come in at a price somewhere around the OnePlus 5, which costs $479 for the 6GB/64GB model and $539 for the 8GB/128GB variant.

If today’s leak is accurate, the OnePlus 5T looks like it’ll be a solid upgrade over the OnePlus 5. The specs will be largely similar, but that’s not a big deal since the OnePlus 5 already has flagship-tier features. The big change will see OnePlus jumping on the tall screen and slim bezel bandwagon, and the good news is that it looks like OnePlus 5T won’t be much larger than the OnePlus 5 despite its bigger screen.

If the OnePlus 5T does indeed feature the design and specs shown in today’s leak, will you consider buying it?
