The idea behind a modular smartphone to offer a wide range of accessories that attach directly to the phone to expand the device’s functionality. Motorola’s Moto Mod lineup is an example of this, and today the Moto Mod lineup continues to expand with a pretty unique idea.
The Polaroid Insta-Share Printer Moto Mod was officially unveiled today and, as the name suggests, it puts a printer right on the back of your Moto Mod-compatible smartphone.
It’s a pretty beefy accessory that will let you instantly print a picture you take on your Moto Z smartphone. You can also print photos from Instagram, Facebook, and Google Photos while on the go.
Photos are printed on 3-inch Polaroid Premium ZINK Zero-Ink paper and you will be able to choose borders, text, and filters to spice up the photos if you like. The printed photos can even be stuck to a surface thanks to the adhesive back you can peel off.
The Polaroid-branded Insta-Share Printer Moto Mod will be available to buy directly from Motorola beginning Friday, November 17, and it will be priced at $199.99. It will go up for pre-order from Best Buy, Fry’s, Newegg, and B&H Photo Video beginning December 6 and will go on sale at those retailers on December 13.
