Tronsmart T6 25 watt 360-degree Bluetooth speaker review

Tronsmart T6 speaker 1

This is a bit of an odd one. This is a 360-degree Bluetooth speaker from Tronsmart with a downward-firing bass driver. In reality, it’s not entirely 360 degrees, as it has two drivers facing opposite directions under that grille. However, it makes for a speaker that fires sound everywhere and looks awesome doing it.

The Tronsmart T6 360-degree Bluetooth speaker is about the thickness of a Pringles can and features a cloth grille surrounding most of it. On top you’ll find some basic controls, including a call button, as well as a silver dial. This dial is for volume adjustments, and inside the dial is an LED ring that will glow blue when on, red when charging, and green when charged.

On the bottom you’ll find the large bass driver. This has quite a bit of movement and is protected by very good rubber feet.

Under the rubber cover you’ll find a 3.5mm aux jack and a microUSB port. It’s always a shame to see microUSB being used instead of USB Type-C, but the latter is still a bit of a fragmented mess so it’s not a big deal.

Build quality

The entire speaker is coated in a very durable fabric, giving it a great feel. Whatever isn’t fabric is plastic and rubber. The top ring is pretty solid and very clicky. The rubber cover over the ports is tight and will easily keep out dust. The speaker is built very well and should hold up to travel.

Sound quality

The star of the show is the bass response. Usually Bluetooth speakers lack a real low end; you can hear it but the highs always overpower the lows. While this Tronsmart speaker won’t be making thundering bass you can feel in your chest, it has a very surprising amount of low end.

The lows and bass are strong and forward, but not too strong. The sound is surprisingly balanced, and best of all, the lows travel very well. Even from across the living room you can hear the lows booming from this little thing. That bottom firing woofer really works, and in a speaker of this size, I’m extremely impressed.

Overall the sound quality is quite good. The highs and mids are both clear and produce very good detail. Even at full volume, you won’t hear any significant distortion. And at full volume, it gets very loud. The sound quality is excellent for the price.

Battery life

The battery life is rated at 15 hours from the 5,200mAh internal battery. At medium to high volumes I’ve found this to be a bit on the high side, but very close. Nonetheless, it’s plenty to keep this speaker going during parties.

With such a large battery, it’s a bit surprising not to see a USB port for charging your phone, but this is not a huge negative considering most speakers don’t offer this.

Tronsmart T69.5 / 10

If you’re looking for a good Bluetooth speaker, the Tronsmart T6 is a solid choice for the price. Not only does it sound good and have great low end, but it’s also a 360-degree speaker with a unique and fun design. While it doesn’t have the most powerful sound, it definitely sounds great in a small package. Plus, that dial feels awesome. Who doesn’t love a solid dial?
