Amazon Echo Spot launches today

After making its debut two months ago, the Amazon Echo Spot is now shipping to consumers.

You can now buy the Echo Spot from Amazon in black or white. As of this post, the black version will be in stock on December 28 and the white variant will be available on January 5. However, you can order now and your device will be shipped when it becomes available.

Amazon’s Echo Spot is to the Echo Show as the Echo Dot is to the standard Echo. This is a small Echo device with a round 2.5-inch display that can show you the weather, videos, and more. There’s also a camera above the display that’ll let you conduct video calls.

The Echo Spot also boast a speaker that you can use to play music from Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora, and other services, and there’s a 3.5mm cable port and Bluetooth for connecting the Echo Spot to other speakers.

Also included with the Echo Spot is support for Amazon’s array of Alexa skills. You can use it to play Jeopardy!, request an Uber, get a pizza from Domino’s, and much more.

The Echo Spot looks like it could be a solid alarm clock for your bedroom. It’s a small screen that you can use to show the time, you can get your weather and traffic info in the morning, and you can play music to help you get to sleep or whenever else. Plus you’ve got access to Alexa’s library of skills, too.
