Instagram now offers GIF support in Stories

Instagram continues to expand the Stories feature, wanting to bring even more of its users into the fold.

Now, Instagram has officially announced that it supports the use of GIFs in its Stories thanks to GIPHY. It is a pretty straightforward process: When you’re creating a story, you can select the option to add a sticker and you will see an option to add a GIF. There are hundreds of thousands of animated images to choose from right out of the gate.

You will be able to search for a specific GIF you want to use or you can even see which GIFs are popular in the moment if you feel like jumping on the bandwagon.

That’s not all the new features the social network announced today. Instagram is planning on adding support for users to upload photos and videos of any size to their story. So users won’t have to worry about cutting and slicing up their photos and videos to fit with the requirements.

That particular new feature will launch in the coming weeks.
