OnePlus 5 Oreo update halted due to bug

The OnePlus 5 just recently received its Android 8.0 Oreo update, but it was not meant to be. OnePlus has halted the rollout and cancelled the OxygenOS 5.0 update entirely due to a bug.

The bug was not named, but it must be big if an update was cancelled over it. The secrecy may be due to a security flaw, but it’s all speculation for now. The next update will be OxygenOS 5.0.1 and will bring a safe version of Oreo to the device, but there is no ETA for its release.

If you’ve already received the Oreo update, OnePlus has not given us any reason to be concerned. Nonetheless, keep an eye out for the fix and let us know if you’ve found any major bugs with OxygenOS 5.0!
