OnePlus 5T updated to Android Oreo with OxygenOS 5.0.2

OnePlus 5T official

If you have a OnePlus 5T, your wait for the device’s update to Android 8.0 Oreo is over.

OnePlus has detailed the official software update to OxygenOs 5.0.2, which is based on Android 8.0 Oreo. With the new software, the standard Oreo features are there in the mix, including notification dots on app icons, picture-in-picture support, and more. The new software also includes additions from OnePlus, including a new design for the Quick Settings panel, general bug fixes and other improvements, and more.

Here’s the full list of changes and new additions:

Changelog

System

  • Upgraded Android version to Oreo(8.0)
    • New design for Quick Settings
    • General bug fixes and improvements
    • Applied CPU security patch: CVE-2017-13218

Applications

  • Updated Launcher to v2.2
  • Updated Gallery to v2.0
  • Updated Weather to v1.9
  • Updated File Manager to v1.7.6

The update to OxygenOS 5.0.2 is an over-the-air update and it will be rolling out beginning today, so not every OnePlus 5T out in the wild will get the new software today. Keep an eye out for it, though, as it should arrive soon.
