The ZTE Axon 7 is the companies flagship phone, but it’s still stuck on Android 7.0 Nougat. Thankfully ZTE is working to fix this by opening a beta test for the latest Android 8.0 Oreo software.

The beta build is a near stock version of Android with improvements like Picture-in-Picture mode, notification dots, improved battery life, autofill for app passwords, and more.

If you’re interested in testing out the latest software for the Axon 7, head to the ZTE community page to find instructions. But remember, as a beta tester you should be reporting bugs and giving info to the company! Your input will help build a better and more stable official update.

“At ZTE, we listen to our consumers and one of their requests was to get Android O on the Axon 7, and we are excited to make it happen,” said Jeff Yee, VP of Product Marketing and Strategy at ZTE Mobile Devices. “Z-Community continues to grow and is one of the channels we get direct feedback from consumers on our devices. I urge those who are interested to register and be a part of the community so their voice can be heard.”
