Last year, Amazon rolled out free calling and messaging to Echo hardware, and now the feature is expanding to more devices.
As reported by Engadget, Amazon is bringing Alexa calling (including video calls) and messaging to tablets. That not only includes Amazon’s own Fire tablets, but also Android tablets and Apple’s iPad lineup as well. To make the feature work on Android and iOS tablets, you’ll need to open the Alexa app to make a call. To get it to work on a Fire tablet, you will need to hit the Home button first.
On a Fire HD 10 tablet, though, you only need to ask Alexa to make a call or send a message.
What’s more, Amazon’s Drop In feature, which basically serves as a quick intercom feature, also works with tablets.
If you have an Echo device, how often do you use the calling and messaging features?
