On March 27, Huawei is going to unveil its next flagship smartphone. It is also probably going to showcase two variants of that model.
Up to this point, we have seen the Huawei P20 in at least a couple of renders. The P20 Plus and the P20 Lite have also popped up, because that’s how the rumor mill works. In most cases, though, these have been renders and not actual photos of the devices.
That continues to be the case with the latest image that cropped up on the Chinese social media website, Weibo. Telefoon Abonnement discovered the picture, which very clearly showcases a trio of cameras on the back of the upcoming handset. We can also see the “see mooore with AI” tagline that Huawei first introduced with its event invitation earlier this year.
That third camera is expected to offer AI features, which could spice up scene and facial recognition as well as improve low-light photography.
The render also shows us that the front of the P20 Plus, like the P20 Lite, will have a notch on the top of the display, a design cue used by Apple with the iPhone X.
At this point, the consensus seems to be that the Huawei-branded P20 Lite and the P20 are going to boast two cameras on the back while the P20 Plus will have three cameras. Whatever Huawei is planning, we will all find out later this month.
