Google Home now supports voice calling in the United Kingdom

The Google Home smart speaker launched in the United Kingdom back in April of last year, and now one of the most appealing features for the device has finally arrived.

Now, Google has officially updated the Google Home in the United Kingdom to support making mobile and landline calls. Google turned on that particular feature for customers based in the United States and Canada back in August of last year, so the wait for UK customers has been a bit of a stretch. But, better late than never.

For those in the UK that want to use the feature, it will allow for free calls made to contacts stored in a Gmail account or to a business. International calling isn’t supported, but if you call anyone else in the UK, either a mobile number or landline, it will be free.

If you’re in the UK and own a Google Home, the feature should now be live for you.
