Huawei Mate SE arrives in the U.S. with 5.93-inch display and 4GB of RAM

Huawei is expected to introduce a new flagship smartphone later this month, but before then, a more affordable device has launched in the U.S.

The Huawei Mate SE is now available from Amazon, B&H, and Best Buy. The device looks similar to the Honor 7X, but it’s got more RAM (4GB vs 3GB) and built-in storage (64GB vs 32GB) than the 7X.

Other features of this Huawei Mate SE include a 5.93-inch 2160×1080 display, octa-core Kirin 659 processor, microSD card slot, a rear fingerprint reader, dual SIM slots, and a 3,340mAh battery. There’s a dual rear camera setup with 16MP and 2MP sensors that can help you capture portraits with blurry backgrounds as well as an 8MP front-facing camera.

On the software side, the Huawei Mate SE is running Android 7.0 Nougat along with Huawei’s custom user interface.

Huawei’s Mate SE is being sold unlocked and includes support for GSM carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile, and the prepaid carriers that run on those networks. If you’re at all interested in making the Mate SE your next daily driver, you may want to act soon, because all three retailers appear to be offering the device at a discount right now.
