Flagship smartphones have never really aimed for truly rugged designs, even as they try to adopt services like Corning’s Gorilla Glass to strengthen the handsets. Drops and other accidents can happen, and our glass-backed handsets can fall victim to cracks and our screens can be splintered in a matter of seconds.
Samsung wants to make it easier to get repairs, as the company has announced that it’s forming a partnership with uBreakiFix, one of the leading third-party repair services in the United States, which will bring quick repair services to Samsung smartphones when needed.
The deal sees specific Samsung-branded smartphones, including the brand new Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, getting same-day repair services for most issues in as little as just two hours.
The partnership is making 300 uBreakiFix repair locations in the United States “Samsung Care authorized”, which means you will get genuine Samsung parts for repairs in your Samsung smartphones. The repairs will be handled by Samsung certified professionals who use Samsung tools, too.
Available repair services include battery replacements, display replacements, and repairs for cameras and ports. Other out-of-warranty repair options are available as well.
