YouTube for Android is getting an official dark theme soon

For folks who have tried the dark theme option on the desktop version of YouTube, you should be happy to know it’s finally coming to mobile devices as well.

As reported today by Engadget, YouTube is now rolling out a dark theme option for its iOS app. The feature is coming “soon” to Android users, but no specific date was provided just yet.

For those on iOS, though, the dark theme is pretty easy to switch on: Simply tap the account icon, tap the settings option, and find the option for dark theme. You can toggle it on and off right there.

If you turn on the dark theme option, you’ll get rid of all the bright white, including in the settings pane, and switch to a black-and-gray layout.

Google says the new feature is rolling out now, so keep an eye out for it if you’re using an iOS device. Fingers crossed it lands on Android sooner rather than later.
