Essential Phone owners on Sprint are being treated to their Android 8.1 Oreo update

Tudia-Lula-2-Essential-Phone-1

For those of you Essential Phone owners on Sprint, your time has finally come and the Android 8.1 update that first started rolling out in mid-March should reach your phone in the next couple days if it isn’t on there already.

This update carries with it the March security update along with the 8.1 upgrade itself.

As you would expect from Essential, this is a strictly vanilla Android 8.1 update with no extra cruft on top. Worth noting the company has claimed that this update should help any of you experiencing scrolling issues on your Essential Phone, so that should be a welcome change.

So feel free to check for the update if your phone hasn’t alerted you to it already and start enjoying that new point release goodness.
