We are getting closer to HTC officially launching a brand new smartphone, which means the rumor mill has to get to work on producing images and more before the company can get around to announcing anything.
Here we have a few different images of the upcoming, but still unofficial, HTC U12+. The pictures show a handset out in the wild which does indeed share some design sensibilities to previous HTC-branded phones. Of course, there’s always the possibility that they aren’t real, so keep that salt shaker on hand just in case.
The pictures were shared to an HTC fan page on Facebook recently, and they show a very shiny smartphone with a pair of cameras not only on the back, but also up front. We can see a fingerprint reader on the back, too, and minimized bezels above and below the display.
It doesn’t look like there’s a notch, which might be good news for some. And they do line up with the last batch of images we saw of the U12+ back in March.
As for what the HTC U12+ has to offer, the rumors suggest it will boast a 6-inch WQHD+, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of built-in storage, and a microSD card slot for expandable storage. The battery will measure in at 3420mAh, and the U12+ will run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Meanwhile, there will be two cameras on the front, both of which will be 8MP. On the back, there will be one 16MP camera and one 12MP shooter. The U12+ will also have a fingerprint reader on the back, and Edge Sense technology.
There is no word on when the U12+ is going to launch, how much it will cost, or when HTC is going to announce it. But if it’s starting to crop up in leaked photos, it may be coming up on us soon.
What do you think of the U12+ based on these photos?
