It turns out LG is working on a new Wear OS smartwatch, and the upcoming wearable is making the rounds at the FCC.
Droid-Life first noticed the new LG-branded device, which has a model number LM-W315. The FCC has it listed as a “portable wrist device”, and the documents reveal the setup process for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, indicating it will indeed have some wireless connectivity features on board. Unfortunately, as is par for the course with these FCC filings, there isn’t much else revealed about the upcoming device.
LG’s previous smartwatches had model numbers of W270 and W280, so the upcoming W315 appears to continue that family lineage. There have been rumors that the Life’s Good crew is working on a hybrid timepiece, one that aims to merge a classic watch design/experience with a smartwatch, and this could be that device.
With Google I/O kicking off this week, where we are sure to hear more about Wear OS, it’s possible LG’s new smartwatch gets some prime time exposure as well.
